The Nets help lowly Celtics Get the Wrong #17
The Nets took care of business like they were supposed to for the first time in a while, cruising to a comfortable victory in Boston Friday night. The Nets had double-digit leads early in both the first and second quarters, but the Celtics came back to tie the game both times. A 17-4 Nets run in the third gave them a 13-point cushion though, and Boston could not get closer than 10 points after that. Vince Carter led the Nets with 21 points on 7-of-17 from the floor and Jason Kidd came close to another triple-double, while Marcus Williams and Eddie House combined for 29 points and 10 boards off the bench. The Nets held the Celtics to just 35% from the floor.

Nets Finally Win One in Atlanta
The Nets had another game come down to the final possession Wednesday night in Atlanta, and this time the opponents' shot was off the mark. Somebody named Jeremy Richardson missed a jumper that could have won the game for the Hawks with two seconds to go and the Nets ended their four-game losing streak. With the Nets turning the ball over nine times in the first half, Atlanta led by as many as 11 points in the second quarter. But the Nets slowly made their way back and took the lead late in the third. They led by six with less than three minutes to go, but a 9-2 Atlanta run capped by a Joe Johnson tip-in of his own miss gave the Hawks a one-point lead with 14 seconds to go. Vince Carter then drove to the basket for a layup, putting the Nets back ahead and leading to Richardson's miss on the other end. Carter grabbed the board and hit one of two free throws with one tenth of a second to go to give the Nets a two-point victory. Caryer led the Nets with 22 points and nine boards, Mikki Moore added 19 and six and Eddie House carried the Nets' offense through much of the first half, scoring 13 of his 16 points before the break. On the other end of the floor, Antoine Wright helped hold Johnson to just 10 points on 5-of-16 from the field. It was the eighth time in the past 12 games that a Nets game that was decided by one or two points. Only one other team in NBA history had such a stretch: The Pistons in 1957-58.

Nets Lose Again in OT
Believe it or not it happened again. Two games in three days both decided unfavorably in overtime. This time it was not the Hawks who need the extra period to finish the boys from Jersey but instead the Atlantic Division rival - Philadelphia 76ers. Andrew Iguodala had a career night with 23 points, 15 assists and 7 rebounds in the victory to combine with Samuel Dalembert's 17 rebounds and 14 points. The Sixers have won 5 of their last 8 games while New Jersey has lost two in a row in OT on last second heroics. Carter had 23 points and 10 rebounds in the contest but played uninspired basketball for much of the game. Believe it or not, the Nets actually had an 11 point lead in the third quarter but let it slip away going in the fourth.
The Nets next take on Atlanta for a revenge match Wednesday night in Atlanta. With redemption and a end to a OT losing streak in their grasps, it will interesting to see if New Jersey can lift themselves from this slide.

Nets lose close game to Hawks..
After a game the should have ended in a easy Jersey win, Tyronn Lue hits a 22 footer in overtime to seal it for the Atlanta Hawks. The Nets season has been one of up and downs, injuries and disappointments - and Sunday night was no different. After 4 quarters was not enough for the boys from Easter Rutherford to dispense of the lowly Hawks. Vince Carter and the rest of Frank's squad had to enter overtime with the hopes of dispensing Joe Johnson and the boys from Atlanta. As OT winded down, Carter hit a key 3 pointer with 2.9 seconds to go to tie the ball game. After a Atlanta timeout, out came the Hawks and as Lue released his jump shot at the buzzer you could see the dejection on the face of Kidd and the rest of the Nets.
The Nets next take on the Philadelphia 76ers tonight at 7:30 in Phili. Andre Iguodala and Andre Miller and the revamped 76ers hope to make a dent on Jersey's 7 game lead on them in Atlantic division. Check back tomorrow for another update and hopefully a better result.

Day 1: New Jersey Nets
As a Jersey transplant, the internet provides the ability to check on my team from anywhere on the planet. Whether I am in Boston, Los Angeles or even somewhere abroad, I can read my hometown papers and keep up on the action. The idea of sports blogging really provides sports fans the opportunity to read inside information and feel like they are part of the action even from thousands of miles away. So with my blog, I hope to keep any other Nets or even NBA fans up to speed on all things Nets. I hope you enjoy my site and check back often for more updates..
